Configuration Guide
Please note that on Nokia S60 platform phones some of VoIP settings are hidden by default, and you will need to install new VoIP SIP application from Nokia.
This application can be used to configure VoIP settings on your Nokia. You can create new VoIP profiles and modify the existing ones, and create and modify VoIP parameters and NAT/Firewall traversal settings and that are normally not visible on the device UI, such as codec settings and SIP domain-specific NAT/FW settings. It is also possible to save all the VoIP profile settings to a text file. It also enables VoIP calls over 3G Internet connection.
Using your PC you can download freeNokia VoIP application from Nokia site.
Extract and install SIS file using Nokia PC Suite software on your PC.
Once installation is complete you will be able to see “SIP VoIP Settings” application under Applications menu on your Nokia, which you will need in STEP 5 of this configuration guide for better voice quallity or enabling VoIP over 3G Internet connection.
Here you can find Nokia S60 SIP settings for voip setup and SIP client configuration guide with VoIPVoIP service.
STEP 1
Go to Tools / Settings / Connection / SIP settings.
Choose Options/ New SIP Profile and create the following profile;
Profile Name: VoIPVoIP Service
Profile: IETF Default
Access point: (your WLAN AP name)
Public user name: xxx@voip-sip.org (Instead of xxx, use the account number assigned to you by your SIP service provider or IP-PBX; “@voip-sip.org” – change voip-sip.org to the SIP server provided by VoIP service provider)
Use Compression: No
Registration: “Always on ”
Use Security: No
STEP 2
You do not need to enter Proxy Server settings
Proxy Server Address: none
Registrar Server:none
Realm: none
User Name: none
STEP 3
Enter the following for Registrar Server settings
Registrar Server: voip-sip.org (When recorded your phone will show sip:voip-sip.org)
Realm: voip-sip.org
User Name: xxx
Once again pleas note: Instead of xxx, use the account number assigned to you by your SIP service provider or IP-PBX; “@voip-sip.org” – change voip-sip.org to the SIP server provided by VoIP service provider.
Password: Enter the same password used to login to your VoIPVoIP account
Transport Type: UDP
Port: 5060
STEP 4
Go to Tools / Settings / Connection / Internet Tel. Settings
Create a new profile for “voip”(xxx), name it “voip1″
Choose “voip1″ as Preferred profile
STEP 5
For better voice quality or in order to be able to make VoIP calls over 3G internet connection you need to use Nokia SIP VoIP Application you installed.
Go to Applications on your phone and click on “SIP VoIP Settings” application. Choose VoIP services/VoIPVoIP (or the name of your VoIPVoIP account Internet profile.)
Click on “Profile Settings” and find “Allow VoIP over WCDMA” option and change it to “ON” This change allows VoIP over 3G connection on Nokia phones.
For better voice quality go to Codecs and delete all codecs except G729. There should be only G729 codec left under codecs settings
STEP 6
Reboot your phone. Once your phone is back on it will automatically register to VoIPVoIP.
Once it is registered you can start making calls.
Default call type: To switch between normal GSM calls or VOIP calls, navigate to Tools / Settings / Call / Default call type. Select Cellular to make normal calls to the phone number or Internet to use VoIP to call the number or address
Now you are ready to start making calls.
To dial any phone number you should dial: Country Code + City Code + Phone number
UPDATE (3 Jan 2012), ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION:
For Symbian OS (Series 60) we recommend to use Nimbuzz as a SIP client (it’s a social networks client software as well). And if you are already looking for best mobile messenger for your C5 (that includes VoIP client), don’t worry you will be able to install Nimbuzz on your Nokia Symbian phone, which is the Must Have Social Networking app of the year , as the OVI users decided. You can download it directly from OVI – http://store.ovi.com/content/16638 its completely free of charge. Hope it helps. Your feedback’s are welcome!

Hello Jonah! Hope you have great holidays! Your Nokia C5 is running on Symbian OS v9.4 (Series 60) – according to it's specs. And if you are already looking for best mobile messenger for your C5 (that includes VoIP client), don’t worry you will be able to install Nimbuzz on your brand new C5, which is the Must Have Social Networking app of the year , as the OVI users decided. You can download it directly from OVI – http://store.ovi.com/content/16638 its completely free of charge. Hope it helps. Please let us know if you got success with that and if you have any other questions let us know – we will try to help. Cheers.

Hi yothinin, what SIP client you are using? Nimuzz, Fring, Nokia factory setup or any other? Different SIP software may use different VoIP codecs and thus bandwidth requirements will be different from case to case. Moreover you may have your 3G provider blocks VoIP traffic. Let us know more details and we will try to help.
Cant find "Internet Tel. Settings" tab/icon in Nokia E5, Please help me finding Internet Tel. Settings.
Hi Ali! I have Nokia E71. On my phone SIP settings located here:
